Cardiff City can look back over the years to the transfer market with fond memories, having witnessed a plethora of mouth-watering talent link up with the famous old club.

Top players have come to South Wales in their hundreds, with names going down in history as the greatest ever to ply their trade with the Bluebirds.

However, the transfer market also has it’s flipside, with an equal number of instances when Cardiff fans have looked back, wondering ‘why the hell did we sign that guy?’

One of those is Andreas Cornelius, a Danish striker who arrived from FC Copenhagen for a fee of around £8 million during the Bluebirds’ single season spell in the Premier League.

Making just eight appearances without finding the back of the net, the 24-year-old headed back to the Danish capital, with an investigation even being launched by the FA into the player’s transfer.

Just when Cardiff fans had begun to wipe the memory of the forward from their minds, he returns with an absolute bang.

Imagine the shock rippling through South Wales when the player, now at Italian side Atalanta, comes on as a second half substitute to fire two goals past Joel Robles, as the Serie A outfit destroy Everton 5-1 at Goodison Park.

It is safe to say that fans on Twitter were in total disbelief…
