Patrick Bamford hit 11 goals last season in the Championship but it looks as though he won't be getting any strikes for Nottingham Forest in 2018/19.

The forward really shone at times as Middlesbrough just fell short of the play-off places and it will be their aim to kick-on next season and right that wrong.

Bamford would surely be a key part in that, too, and according to the Northern Echo, Boro aren't going to entertain any bid for him with Nottingham Forest being linked with him.

Forest are feeling ambitious this season coming and their summer activity so far this year has been eye-catching to say the least.

Certainly, Bamford is a player that would really boost their promotion chances but Boro are going for the top spots, too, and so to let go of one of their better players would surely make little sense.

The Verdict

It's a blow for Forest but one that they might have expected to happen.

Bamford would be a good player for many at the top of the league and Middlesbrough know that.

For sure, then, it'd make little sense for them to decide to let him go to a promotion rival and Forest are evidently going to have to change tact.
