Derby County manager Phillip Cocu is looking to invest in the long-term future of the Rams, with a move for teenage star Bruno Davidson of Hutchinson Vale being considered, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.

Despite the 15-year-old's tender years he is already catching the eye with Leeds United, plus Celtic, Wolves, Sunderland and Southampton also reported to be interested.

So would Davidson be a good addition at Pride Park and is he someone the club should be targeting?

We discuss........

Ned Holmes

"Davidson looks like a really exciting young player and is clearly someone that many British clubs feel has the potential to be a start–given the amount of attention he is receiving.

"Derby have done a good job of bringing players like Bogle through in recent years, so bringing the 15-year-old to the club looks a smart move.

"However, they may struggle due to the competition from big clubs such as Celtic and Wolves.

"If they can get this done, you feel it would be a bit of a coup and something that could pay dividends in years to come."

Josh Cole

“This could turn out to be a shrewd addition by Phillip Cocu if the Rams manager is able to convince Davidson to make the move to Pride Park in January.

“One of the most exciting talents in Scottish football, the 15-year-old has already illustrated some real signs of promise at non-league level for Hutchinson Vale.

“Whilst the Championship will represent a huge leap in terms of quality compared to what Davidson is currently used to, there is no reason why the winger cannot go on to achieve a relative amount of success under the guidance of Cocu.

“Given that the likes of Florian Jozefzoon and Tom Lawrence have struggled for consistency this season, it could be argued that the Rams may need to bolster their options in the wide areas and thus it may be worth taking a risk on Davidson.”

George Harbey

"Davidson looks like a real talent with a huge amount of potential, and it speaks volumes that he's already attracting interest from some very big clubs in the English Football League as well as in Scotland.

"He's only 15 years of age, but there is no reason to suggest that after a couple of years of training, he could be an important player under Phillip Cocu, who has tried and tested plenty of young players this term.

"Jude Bellingham has proved at Birmingham that if you're good enough, you're old enough, and he is only 16 years of age.

"What I would say is that Derby already have some really talented youngsters coming through the ranks at Pride Park, in the likes of Morgan Whittaker, Louie SIbley and Jason Knight - where would this signing leave them?"
