Leeds United eased past fellow Championship side Bolton Wanderers in last night’s EFL Cup match, with several fresh faces given a run out.
Several squad players were given a run out, including 21-year old Jack Harrison, who had an eye-catching evening on the wing.
Harrison is on loan at Elland Road from Manchester City, having previously played in the MLS for New York City.
He showed a willingness to get on the ball and attack players last night, playing with the same intensity that we’ve seen from his team mates in the Championship.
Leeds fans were happy to see him on the field and remarked on his obvious potential, but it was noted perhaps there’s work to be done. His end product wasn’t always as clinical as it might have been, but overall he looked a real handful.
He wasn’t on the scoresheet, that was left to Patrick Bamford and Samuel Saiz, but his outing drew fans to Twitter to offer their opinion on his possible roles this season.
Here are some of the responses from social media.
Baker and Harrison just both need to improve decision making, Harrison looked very lively though! Baker for me isn't at the required level yet, just doesn't look like he clicks yet!

He was sharp in certain situations, (the goal) but wasteful in others I agree! Harrison looks a player!

Yeah mate Harrison looks a handful. A little wasteful today but with some time could be deadly

Can’t agree with you there: Jansson made some good challengers, Roofe made an impact when he came on, Shackleton looked lively, Baker whipped in some good balls, Harrison was very skill full, Blackman used his height very well

Shakey second half but nothing to moan about. Into the second tie and good to see Bamford scoring and by the way, Harrison will now be referred to as ‘twinkle toes’. What a skilful little player, impressive full debut from him #lufc

Agree about Shackleton outstanding and Harrison looks good but not much end product, not getting the excitement with baker didn’t do much for me

First half was class. Second half was very poor. Jansson gave the ball away at every chance. Ayling & Phillips outstanding again. Harrison will do damage this season
