But Martin O'Neill's men responded in emphatic fashion on Saturday afternoon - after a tight first half at the City Ground, the Irishman's substitutions changed the game for the better, with goals from Joao Carvalho and Karim Ansarifard putting the Reds into a 2-0 lead.

Joe Lolley then converted from the spot, which secured a massive three points for Forest - they are now up to 8th in the league table, two points off the top six.

Carvalho's goal would have undoubtedly delighted Forest fans after failing to make an impact under O'Neill before the weekend, and Ansarifard's goal is also likely to please a lot of fans too.

The 28-year old had played just three minutes of football under the 67-year old, but definitely forced his way into the Irishman's plans with a goal at the weekend.
