Tyler Roberts has come into his own in the last two games and provided Marcelo Bielsa with a tough selection dilemma as Leeds United push towards automatic promotion in the run-in.

The Whites have been battling for promotion under Bielsa this season with a very thin squad that has posed some pretty big problems throughout the campaign in a number of positions, one of those being up front.

Patrick Bamford’s less-than-desirable form in front of goal led Leeds into dipping into the January transfer window to sign Jean-Kevin Augustin on-loan from RB Leipzig, in theory providing cover and good competition for the number nine.

However, two sub appearances and 54 minutes of playing time later and Augustin hasn’t done anything to impact the first-team in a positive way, leaving the Whites particularly light in the final third heading into the promotion run-in.

The away trip to Hull City saw Tyler Roberts add two goals to see Leeds win the game 4-0 with two well-taken finishes, leaving many questioning whether Bamford would retain his place against Huddersfield Town, which he did.

Bamford ended up scoring Leeds’ second on the day before being taken off to a standing ovation from the Elland Road crowd, to see Roberts introduced and he did well to hold his own up front against an aggressive Huddersfield defence.

Going forward towards the end of the season, it does appear that the Whites will be looking to the Welsh international for backup over Augustin for the rest of the season, as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

The point was raised to Leeds United fans on Twitter by Phil Hay, who believes that Leeds will be lucky to see Augustin much before the end of the season.

Here’s how the Whites fans reacted to that verdict...
