‘Looked classy’, ‘Bang average’ – Plenty of Nottingham Forest fans left divided after midfielder’s cup display

Nottingham Forest will face Derby County in the second round of the Carabao Cup, after defeating League One side Fleetwood Town by a goal to nil on Tuesday night.

The night gave Forest fans a chance to see a host of new signings in action, with the likes of John Bostock, Carl Jenkinson, Yuri Ribeiro and Brice Samba all making their debuts for the East Midlands side.

In fact, perhaps unsurprisingly, Sabri Lamouchi made nine changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Leeds United at the weekend, with Joe Worrall and Tiago Silva the only players to keep their place in the starting line-up.

It was the latter who was the pick of the bunch for the Reds against Fleetwood, with the Portuguese playmaker slamming home after fine link-up play with Bostock to fire them into a 1-0 lead.

The night also presented the Reds faithful with a chance to see Samba Sow in action from the off – the 30-year-old came on as a late substitute in the draw at Elland Road on Saturday, but was given a chance to impress from minute one in midweek.

The experienced midfielder made a real impact upon his first start for the club, picking out some really neat passes in midfield, driving forward with the ball at times and breaking up play really nicely.

How did Forest fans rate his performance? Here, we take a look…
