Bristol City boss Lee Johnson has reached out to the Ashton Gate faithful amidst the current fixture uncertainty, which has drawn an interesting response from fans of the South West club.

All EFL fixtures have been suspended until the 30th of April at the earliest, though at this point it remains unclear how long the delay to the season will last.

The EFL have made it clear they intend to complete the 2019/20 campaign, which would mean the Robins have a good chance of securing a play-off spot and battling for promotion.

Johnson's men are seventh in the table as things stand – just one point back from the top six with nine games left of the season.

During the current delay, the City boss has sent a message of encouragement to fans on Twitter.

In the video, which was posted on the club's official Twitter account, Johnson revealed he and his squad were missing the fans immensely, discussed the players' individual training regimes, encouraged fans to stay inside, and heaped praise on the NHS.

He also provided a rousing message to supporters about preparations for the return of the season, suggesting he was planning and working hard to ensure his side were ready to hit the ground running and battle for promotion when the Championship resumes.

The video has drawn a fair bit of attention on social media, including some digs from Leeds United fans, and it appears to have been well received by City fans.
