Champions League winners Liverpool could be set to allow winger Harry Wilson to leave the club this summer.

However, according to a report from the Sunday Mirror, the Reds are only willing to allow Wilson to leave on a permanent deal if they are offered around £21m, something which will no doubt scupper the plans of both Leeds United and Derby, who had both hoped to sign the 22-year-old.

Wilson was in superb form for the Rams last season as he helped Frank Lampard's men to the Championship play-off final, but with first team opportunities at Anfield likely to be limited, he is expected to move on once again this summer.

However, despite Leeds being interested and Derby being keen to bring him back to Pride Park, the £21m price tag placed on his head could scupper any chances the Championship pair have of bringing the Welshman to their respective clubs.

According to the report, there is solid interest in Wilson from Germany, where RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim are both keen on adding the Liverpool man to their ranks this summer.

Both Leeds and Derby are unlikely to pay the money asked for Wilson, with a season long loan move top of the agenda for the Championship pair in their pursuit of the Wales winger.

The Verdict

It's hardly surprising this is is really, let's be honest.

Wilson was tremendous for Derby, and if Liverpool are going to sell him, they are going to want to get big money.

It's frustrating that he won't get his chance under Jurgen Klopp, but then again why would Klopp change anything after the season they have just had. Wilson will be fine though, and a move to Germany might well be ideal for him at this stage.
