Fulham are closing in on the signing of Sheyi Ojo.

Sky Sports News were reporting yesterday that Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo was undergoing a medical at Fulham ahead of his proposed loan move to the Championship promotion hopefuls.

A host of clubs from the Premier League and the Championship have been interested in signing Sheyi Ojo on loan this summer.

After Liverpool decided to sanction a loan move for the skillful winger, they gave Ojo the option of Fulham, Newcastle United or Middlesbrough as his temporary destination.

Now it looks like the former Milton Keynes youngster is set to pick Fulham.

The 20-year-old is expected to head out on his third loan stint to the Championship.

In the 2014/15 season, Ojo played eleven times for Wigan and then in the 2015/16 season, the wide man scored three goals in nineteen games for Wolves.

Sheyi Ojo also has thirteen senior games for Liverpool under his belt, netting the one goal in that time.

However, last season's progress was hampered by injury and the England under-20 international will be hoping to kick on this season.

Fulham appear set to beat numerous clubs to the loan signing of Sheyi Ojo, who was having a medical with the West London side yesterday.

The Verdict

Sheyi Ojo is just what Fulham need, especially after they lost Lucas Piazon to a long-term injury last night.

The Cottagers would have stepped up their pursuit of Ojo after Piazon suffered a leg break in the 0-0 draw with Leeds as they search for another attacking spark in midfield.

Sheyi Ojo will be hungry to show Liverpool what he's got so that he can stake a claim for a first team spot in the 2018/19 season and Fulham might be the short-term beneficiaries of that.
