Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo is waiting to speak to manager Jurgen Klopp before a decision is made on where he will go out on loan, reports the Stoke Sentinel

Ojo spent last season on loan at play-off winners Fulham but missed nearly three months thanks to a collection of various injuries.

The 21-year-old scored one and set up another as the Reds beat Tranmere Rovers 3-2 in a friendly at Anfield last night, but his future at the club remains uncertain.

It was announced this morning that the Merseyside club had opened up talks with the Potters over winger Xherdan Shaqiri, and Rowett will be keeping an eye out for his replacement.

It could, therefore, be possible that Stoke will request Ojo move to the Bet365 Stadium on loan as part of the Shaqiri deal.

The Potters have enjoyed a busy transfer window so far, bringing in Benik Afobe, Oghenekaro Etebo and Adam Federici.

The verdict

Ojo would be a decent addition to a Stoke squad that is getting stronger by the week.

Shaqiri may never have endeared himself to the fans during his time at Stoke, but it cannot be denied that his quality is going to need replacing.

Rowett is putting together a very strong squad that will no doubt be right up there come May.
