Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri is on Liverpool's radar, according to The Daily Star.

The Reds could move for Shaqiri, who is available for a bargain £12m due to a release clause in his contract.

Shaqiri is likely to leave Stoke this summer with a host of top flight clubs willing to bring him back to the Premier League.

As well as Liverpool, the likes of Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as many others, have been credited with interest in the wide man, who scored eight goals and grabbed seven assists for the Potters in the Premier League last season.

The former Inter Milan star is also on the radar of Roma, who are hoping to bring him back to Italy.

But Shaqiri's future is unlikely to be concluded imminently.

The Switzerland international is currently preparing to represent his country at the World Cup finals in Russia starting next week and talks over his future will be put on hold until after then.

Liverpool are keen to add depth to their attacking midfield regions and will eye a bargain swoop for Shaqiri as a decent option for them this summer.

The Verdict

Stoke will be desperate to keep their talented midfielder, but they will be powerless to prevent him from re-joining a top flight club if his lowly price tag is met.

At £12m, this is a bargain for any top flight side and Liverpool will be able to splash that on a Mo Salah deputy.

With plenty of tricks up his sleeve, the ability to score goals and provide assists and a serious threat from set-pieces, Shaqiri is a very good Premier League player who deserves to stay at the top level.
