Liverpool are plotting a January move for Norwich City star Jacob Murphy, according to The Sun.
The report adds that Liverpool will send Murphy back to Norwich on loan for the remainder of the 2016/17 season in an attempt to beat Tottenham Hotspur to his signature.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough season at Norwich after serving his time with plenty of loan clubs in the past.
Murphy had previously represented Swindon, Southend, Blackpool, Scunthorpe and Colchester on loan before he impressed with 10 goals and 10 assists for Coventry City last season.
He has stepped up to Championship level this year and hit 7 goals in 24 matches for Alex Neil’s Canaries.
The tricky winger offers pace and directness and his impressive performances have alerted Tottenham and Liverpool, who have both watched Murphy on several occasions.
Liverpool are now hoping to have nipped in front of Spurs by offering Norwich the opportunity to keep him for the season.
