Liverpool are preparing to make a decision about in-demand 18-year-old Harvey Elliott with the player most likely to stay with Jurgen Klopp's squad for the 2021/22 campaign, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

Elliott dazzled while on loan with Blackburn Rovers in 2021/22, scoring seven times and adding 11 assists in what was his first full season in senior football.

According to the Lancashire Telegraph, there are 10 clubs keen on the Liverpool teenager after last term's exploits.

Blackburn are understood to be among those interested, as are newly promoted duo Brentford and Watford, and Sheffield United.

The report claims that they should find out soon enough, with the Anfield outfit preparing to make a decision over Elliott's future.

It is said, however, that it is most likely that the English attacker will stay with the Liverpool senior squad for the season ahead.

His versatility could make him a useful option for Klopp, with the England youth international capable of playing on both flanks and in attacking midfield.

Elliott joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2019 and has made nine appearances since, the last of which came last September.

The Verdict

It seems we may find out about Elliott's future very soon, though it looks as though it might not be good news for the Championship clubs in pursuit.

The teenager produced a remarkable season for his age last term and would be an asset for any side in the second tier, so it's no surprise to hear that 10 clubs are interested.

You'd hope that if Klopp does opt to keep him at Anfield then he will give the attacker a significant chance to impress.
