Marcelo Bielsa will be looking to bolster his Leeds United squad over the course of the next three weeks, with the Argentine surely understanding the need to pad out an ultra thin group at Elland Road.

Leeds are in the thick of the Championship’s promotion race and looking to end an long exile from the Premier League.

This is arguably Leeds’ best chance of promotion since 2006, when they suffered a play-off final defeat to Watford.

However, reinforcements are needed, with a back-up goalkeeper surely the priority.

In addition to that, Leeds are beginning to look light in midfield, whilst a new winger to add a creative spark in the final third wouldn’t go amiss.

Elland Road is looking like an attractive place to play football again and Leeds should have some big names on their radar.

Here’s a look at FIVE the club should make enquiries for this week…

Fraser Forster

Forster is way down the pecking order at Southampton and would undoubtedly solve Leeds’ goalkeeping problems.

He’s got great experience, which would aid Bailey Peacock-Farrell, whilst at 30, he’s still in his prime.

The perfect signing.

Ben Woodburn

Woodburn’s spell with Sheffield United across the Championship has been disappointing, but there’s no denying his talent.

Under Bielsa’s guide and in Leeds’ 4-1-4-1 system, Woodburn would have many opportunities to impress.

He’d be a real threat, even from the bench.

Marcus Maddison

Maddison is still at Peterborough but you feel a Championship club could tempt him out.

He’s got great ability on the ball and is a creative influence in the final third.

He’d take some pressure off Leeds’ attacking players.

Isaac Hayden

The Newcastle midfielder won the title at St James’ Park in 2017, but he’s never really been a firm favourite under Rafa Benitez.

He’s got great ability and covers midfield and defence.

A good alternative to Kalvin Phillips.

Alex Cairns

As mentioned, the need for a goalkeeper is great this month and Leeds need more than one option.

Cairns is a product of Leeds’ academy, who is now thriving with Fleetwood.

He’s a young, inexperienced, alternative, but still a good option.
