Liverpool starlet Jerome Sinclair is set to join Malky Mackay’s Wigan Athletic on loan until the end of the season, reports Wigan Today.
The young forward is highly-rated at Anfield however is not in the first-team plans of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers just yet.
The 18-year-old will be joining up with fellow Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo at the Championship strugglers.
Malky Mackay’s side are in desperate need of fresh impetus to give them every hope of remaining in the second tier of English football.
Wigan Athletic currently sit in 22nd position in the Sky Bet Championship, after a turbulent season that has seen them pick up only 34 points from 36 league games.
The Latics are six points away from 21st placed Rotherham United, and it is going to take a monumental effort in the last nine games of the season to stay in the division.
Sinclair could help add a new element of spark and guile that could be beneficial in Wigan’s remaining nine league fixtures.
