Liverpool are set to beat Arsenal, Leeds United and West Ham United in the race for Fulham teenager Fabio Carvalho and could make a move before the January window closes, according to 90min

The 19-year-old is having a phenomenal breakthrough season at Craven Cottage and has cemented himself as Marco Silva's first choice number 10 – scoring seven goals and providing four assists as he's helped the west London club go clear at the top of the Championship.

Carvalho's current deal at Fulham expires in the summer and he is yet to agree new terms.

The teenager has rejected multiple new contract offers, including a big-money offer in November, with the league leaders now said to be growing increasingly worried about losing him.

90min has reported that a host of top flight clubs are keen on the attacking midfielder, including Arsenal, Leeds, Southampton, Tottenham, and West Ham.

However, as per their latest report, Liverpool are set to win the race for Carvalho and are looking into signing him before the transfer window closes on Monday evening.

The Verdict

This may feel a little like deja vu for Fulham, should Liverpool swoop for one of their young talents for what will likely be fairly nominal compensation.

It's no surprise that there are a host of Premier League clubs chasing him because Carvalho has been phenomenal this season and will surely only get better as he gets more football under his belt.

It is a testament to his quality that he's keeping the likes of Tom Cairney and Bobby De Cordova Reid out of the team at the age of just 19.

If Liverpool are indeed going to bid for him this month, it may well spur other clubs into action and leave the Craven Cottage club with a tough decision to make.

They'll not want to lose a player that looks set to be pivotal to their promotion hopes this term but equally, they do have a deep squad and may be able to get a decent fee for him.
