Reading have made an approach for Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria, according to Football Insider.
The Royals are believed to be interested in a another loan deal for the 21-year-old, following a successful loan spell last season.
Ejaria would be Reading’s first signing of the season, and manager Jose Manuel Gomes is said to be very keen on resigning him after he became a key cog in the Reading midfield last term.
After arriving on loan in January the central midfielder made 16 appearances, scoring once and assisting twice as he helped to steer Reading clear of the relegation zone.
Liverpool will be open to a loan move too, as he is nowhere near Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans currently.
He would become an important player at Reading, and the club would be able to guarantee The Reds that he will receive sufficient game time to aid his development.
This is a very good move by Reading. Ejaria had a big impact last season, his athleticism and ability on the ball proved a difference maker to the Reading midfield last season and if he carries on where he left then Reading will likely be competing in the top-half of the division once again.
He seemed settled at Reading last season despite only being there a few months, and he worked really well alongside Gomes, who seemed to get the best out of him.
Another bonus for Reading is they may be able to sign him on a permanent basis. By next summer he will be 22 and if he’s not getting a look in then he may want a move elsewhere, and Reading would be the prime location.
