Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of goalkeeper Kamil Grabara from Premier League side Liverpool.

Confirmed by the club's website, the 20-year-old joins the Terriers on a season-long loan deal from the Reds and becomes the sixth player to make the switch to the John Smith's Stadium this summer.

Grabara spent the second-half of the previous campaign on loan at Aarhus GF where he made 16 appearances for the Danish side, helping them avoid relegation from the Superliga.

Speaking about his move to Huddersfield, Grabara admitted: "As a young player you need to develop, so I have a great chance to prove myself that I can become a good goalkeeper.

"I am happy because not many times things like this happen for young boys.

"I see this as the next stage; it’ll be a tough stage because we all know how the Championship is, it’s all about getting the team settled down and playing.

"I know that everyone is interested in this league sometimes even more than the Premier League when it comes to the Play-Offs.

"I’ve seen it, it’s a tough league, there’s so many teams inside the league and the funny thing is everyone can beat everyone, so you need to be the team that beats everyone."

The Verdict

Having seen Jonas Lossl make his departure from West Yorkshire earlier this summer, the Terriers needed to find a solution to their goalkeeping dilemma and will be hoping that Grabara can step up to the mark next season.

Although he has never played at senior level in England before during his career, the shot-stopper has impressed for Liverpool's youth sides since joining the reigning Champions League winners in 2016 from Ruch Chorzow.

Whereas there is no doubting his talent, in order to give himself the best chance of overtaking both Ben Hamer and Joel Coleman in the pecking order at Huddersfield, Grabara must first prove his worth to Siewert in pre-season.

If he can impress in the club's upcoming friendlies with Rochdale and Doncaster Rovers, the Poland under-21 international may find himself in contention to start in the Terriers' first fixture of the new campaign on August 5th against Derby County.
