Sky Bet Championship side Hull City are interested in signing Liverpool youngster Herbie Kane on loan in the summer, according to reports from Hull Live.

The 20-year old is yet to make a first-team appearances for the Merseyside club since joining from Bristol City as a youngster, but has come into his own after a hugely impressive spell with Doncaster Rovers this term.

The midfielder has scored a total of seven goals and produced eight assists in all competitions for Grant McCann's men, playing an influential role in Donny's push for promotion in League One.

And, after a fine season in the third tier, the energetic midfielder could be set to challenge himself in the Championship next season, with Nigel Adkins' men interested in signing him on loan in the summer.

The loan market has proven to work wonders for the Tigers over the last few years, with the club signing eight players since their relegation from the top-flight two years ago, largely down to limited funds at the KCOM Stadium.

The likes of Harry Wilson, Fikayo Tomori, Todd Kane and Tommy Elphick have all proven to be shrewd loan additions, and the club will hoping to complete the signing of another Kane this summer.

The Verdict

Kane is a fantastic player, who has really benefited from a loan spell with Doncaster this season.

At 20 years of age, he needs to be playing regular football, and he is likely to become a regular for Hull if he signs.

What a player he is proving to be, and he would be a very good option in midfield for the Tigers next term.
