Brentford are amongst a host of Championship clubs hoping to take Ben Woodburn on loan for the second half of the campaign, according to Goal.com.
The Bees are joined by Hull City and Blackburn Rovers in the hunt for Woodburn, who has endured a miserable loan spell with Sheffield United this season.
He was recalled by his parent club after failing to break through at Bramall Lane, making just one Championship start and six more appearances from the bench.
The 19-year old is highly likely to be heading back out, but only on the proviso he gets the necessary games to aid his development, which was the intention behind the Blades loan.
Brentford have struggled since the departure of Dean Smith and are currently 18th in the table, just six points shy of relegation. The goals of Neal Maupay and Ollie Watkins have dried up significantly, meaning they need an injection of creativity which Woodburn could provide.
Despite the lack of games, Woodburn remains part of the international set up under Ryan Giggs for his native Wales.
Woodburn has a lot to offer the right team and after his miserable spell under Chris Wilder, he’ll be all the more motivated to prove himself.
Brentford would seem like a wise destination, they play football in the right way and if afforded a chance, he’s see lots of the ball at his feet with green spaces to attack.
That would suit his attributes nicely.
