Birmingham City have surprised a few people with a solid, if unspectacular start to their Championship season.

After battling relegation last season and struggling to make signings in the summer, they were left with a weak squad and little hope of success.

Whilst they haven't been tearing up trees or troubling the top six, they've been organised enough, solid at the back and in Lukas Jutkiewicz, they've found an unlikely goal scoring hero.

It is testament to Garry Monk's ability as a manager and his tactical awareness. The Blues can't compete in terms of recruitment, but come January they have a chance to at least strengthen their own offering.

Which way they go and what business they manage to do will ultimately define the rest of their season. Here, FLW suggest the perfect double deal in the transfer window for Garry Monk's side.

Bogle might only be on loan, but much of Birmingham's business will be around the loan market and him going will free up a wage.

Bogle is a burly centre forward who should act as a target man, but that role is being owned by Jutkiewicz. That leaves the Cardiff striker surplus to requirements.

He's not Championship standard and Birmingham have found that out.

Whilst he goes, we think Birmingham should look at bring Rhian Brewster in.

He's a different type of striker to Jutkiewicz, one who will offer mobility and energy up front. The wages and fees attached to Bogle would be far better spent on an enthusiastic youngster with a point to prove to his parent club.

Brewster has proven he's a winner in his youth career, time to step up to senior football and show the world he can do it on the bigger stage.
