Birmingham City have surprised a few people with a solid, if unspectacular start to their Championship season.
After battling relegation last season and struggling to make signings in the summer, they were left with a weak squad and little hope of success.
Whilst they haven’t been tearing up trees or troubling the top six, they’ve been organised enough, solid at the back and in Lukas Jutkiewicz, they’ve found an unlikely goal scoring hero.
It is testament to Garry Monk’s ability as a manager and his tactical awareness. The Blues can’t compete in terms of recruitment, but come January they have a chance to at least strengthen their own offering.
Which way they go and what business they manage to do will ultimately define the rest of their season. Here, FLW suggest the perfect double deal in the transfer window for Garry Monk’s side.
