Middlesbrough were one of the few clubs whose inactivity on Deadline Day caused fans some concern.

Many clubs had already concluded their business and it was left to a small handful to manoeuvre and negotiate on the final day for permanent transfers.

With money flowing in from selling Adama Traore, Patrick Bamford and Ben Gibson, Boro were expected to be one of those clubs.

It didn't pan out that way and they failed to bring in the players expected by the fans.

It didn't seem to hurt them too much, they still registered a fine win at the weekend to give them seven points from nine and two wins on the bounce.

If they're to remain in the top six they'll need to add a couple of players though, albeit via the loan market.

Such is the climate these days that a loan can be a way around a permanent deal, with clubs agreeing a short-term loan of six months followed by an agreement to buy.

Effectively, there are two Deadline Days this summer, meaning Tony Pulis still has time to inject some fresh quality into his side.

Here are three players FLW feels he could move for this week to truly bolster his squad....

Ojo has been linked with almost every aspiring Premier League side this summer following his successful spell at Fulham last season.

Having lost the pace of Traore out wide, Ojo would be just the tonic for Boro. He's quick, creative and would provide the outlet for the Boro defenders once they've soaked up pressure, in keeping with Tony Pulis' well-known tactical approach.

If one of those other clubs pip Boro to Ojo, maybe Yannick Bolasie would be the smart move. He's seemingly on his way out of Everton and ripe for a loan with a right to buy at the end of it.

Boro are one of the few sides who might be able to reach his possible transfer fee, should that be the case, but his wages might be a stumbling block to any second-tier team not wanting FFP trouble in a year or so.

Having lost Bamford, Boro may be looking to add value to the forward line and who better than Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham?

He's international quality and proven at Premier League level, so he would be more than suited to a title-aspiring Championship side.

He would certainly get the Boro punters back on side too, he's a big name in English football and likely to significantly impact any team he does move to.
