Sheffield United's David Brooks is once again linked with a move to the Premier League in the January transfer window, following his impressive start to the season.

The talented midfielder really caught the eye when winning Man of the Match as the Blades comfortably beat bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday in the Steel City derby last month.

Whilst club's will have been aware of his talents before then, his performance brought major attention and the rumours have persisted since.

The Mirror are reporting that Liverpool head a queue of top-flight sides that are interested in the 20-year old, that includes Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle United.

A fee of £10m has been suggested, although it's hard to see Chris Wilder or the board sanctioning a sale given the position the club find themselves in.

Victory over Ipswich on Saturday has left United in third position in the league, just two points of leaders Wolves.

Brooks has played a key part this season but has been managed carefully by Wilder throughout his time at the club and had to settle for a place on the bench at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The Verdict

David Brooks is an extremely talented player and given his age attention from the Premier League is inevitable.

However, Blades fans needn't worry about losing their key man in January. The club would be mad to sell their starlet with the position they are in.

It would also be best for Brooks to stay and develop at Bramall Lane, where he is guaranteed game time. A move will happen, but not for a while yet.
