Champions League finalists Liverpool are thought to be interested in a move for Swansea City star Jordan Ayew, according to Football Ghana.

The report suggests that Scottish giants Celtic are also looking to swoop for the Ghana international as Swansea prepare for life in the Championship.

The 26-year old has been with Swansea for eighteen months, but looks set to leave as Graham Potter shuffles the pack ahead of a challenging Championship season.

Ayew, the son of African legend Abedi Pele, has played 46 times for his country, scoring 12 times. He's featured 44 times in all competitions since arriving at the Liberty Stadium, bagging 11 goals in the process.

Last season he scored seven Premier League goals in the Swans' futile attempts at staying in the top flight.

He's previously featured for Aston Villa and French side Marseille.

The Verdict

It would be a surprise to see him move to Anfield, but both Ayew brothers are from good footballing stock and have lots of ability.

Swansea will be happy to see a few million quid roll into the coffers, boosting their own chances of bouncing back at the first time of asking.
