Liverpool want to snap up Norwich City star James Maddison in the summer transfer window, according to the print edition of The Daily Mirror reported via Sky Sports News.
James Maddison has been the standout performer for Norwich this season, scoring eight goals and registering a further eight assists for the Canaries.
These performances have not gone unnoticed and the former Coventry City youngster is now on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs.
As well as Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly keen.
Maddison is an attacking midfielder who made his breakthrough with Coventry City in League One before moving to Norwich in January 2016.
The England under-21 international was loaned back to the Sky Blues for the remainder of the 2016/17 season and was hardly given a chance last year at Carrow Road.
But after a successful loan spell at Aberdeen last term, Maddison has returned to play a starring role in Daniel Farke’s side.
The skillful 21-year-old has bags of potential and this is something that Premier League teams have become attracted to.
While Norwich will hope to keep Maddison at the club beyond this summer, it may become increasingly difficult with Premier League sides like Liverpool circling.
As a Coventry City fan, I am fully aware of how much talent this young man has. During his time at The Ricoh Arena, he had the ability to make a chance out of nothing and there was always plenty of excitement whenever he got onto the ball. It is no surprise to see him doing well at Norwich and it is only a matter of time before he gets his Premier League move.
