Liverpool are set to reignite their interest in Derby County midfielder Will Hughes, according to the Daily Star.
An incredible £15 million bid is on the cards for the England under-21 international, who Brendan Rodgers’ side were chasing last summer, but no offer came to fruition.
Hughes has not been in the same scintillating form this season as he was in 2013/2014. He rightfully earned himself a spot in the Sky Bet Championship PFA Team of the Season after playing a major role in Derby’s recovery under Steve McClaren.
The Reds will make a swoop for the Derby academy Graduate if the Rams fail to clinch promotion to the Premier League.
Derby’s form has taken a turn for the worst in recent weeks, falling from top spot to fifth place after failing to win in their last six games.
If they get their act together they could still go up via the play-offs, although automatic promotion isn’t out of the question.
Steve McClaren’s Derby County have amassed 67 points thus far this season.
