Liverpool are said to be keen on striking a £5 million deal for Fulham's Fabio Carvalho this month, as per a recent report by the Daily Star.

The exciting young playmaker has been on the radar for many top clubs across Europe this season after making the step up to the first team at Craven Cottage.

Liverpool are one of the clubs that have been long term admirers of the 19-year-old and now appear set to firm up their interest by making an offer for the teenager this month.

However it is said that their poor relationship with Fulham could throw a spanner in the works, with the Cottagers having been left unhappy by the way that the Reds managed to snare another of their former academy graduates in Harvey Elliott away from West London.

Carvalho is due to be out of contract with the Whites come the end of the current season and is said to have no plans to renew his deal.

The midfielder has scored seven goals and assisted a further two for his side this term.

The Verdict

This is something that Fulham will have expected for quite some time and it now finally seems that we could be reaching a tipping point over the future of Carvalho at the club.

He is all but set to leave Craven Cottage but the only question that is left to be answered is when will it happen?

The Whites have two choices. Cash in now and make some money on a player that they worked so hard to develop or hold onto him until the summer and see him leave for nothing.

It's a very tough situation to be in and it is likely to all boil down to what money is on offer when it comes to bids being submitted for this generational talent.
