Liverpool will be hoping to launch a serious challenge for the Premier League title this season, but will find it hard to topple Manchester City.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, Jurgen Klopp may well see it as an opportunity to edge his side ahead of Pep Guardiola's City.

One player who they are reportedly keen to bring in is young Blackburn Rovers forward, Vilius Piliukaitis, who moved to Ewood Park on loan in the summer from the Lithuanian National Football Academy.

Rovers have an option to buy the 17-year-old in the January window but the Reds are keen to steal him, according to TEAMtalk.

If they are to land the exciting youngster, they will have to see off stiff competition from their top-six rivals - Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.

Is this a good move for Liverpool and the youngster?

I’m not sure about this - Liverpool don't need him at all.

I just can’t see Piliukaitis getting in ahead of the likes of Rhian Brewster and Dom Solanke in the future.

Liverpool should look to develop their own youth talent before looking to sign others.

George Harbey

I don't think it would be a wise move.

He would have to battle the likes of Rhian Brewster for a starting spot at Anfield in the future, which will certainly be a difficult task.

He might look for a move elsewhere to secure his long-term future.

It seems a bit pointless.

At the moment Liverpool seem to be set on achieving immediate success and Piliukaitis would definitely not be a part of that.

He would be better suited staying with Rovers.
