West Brom face a battle to keep hold of another one of their talented youngsters with Liverpool keen on bringing in young forward Jovan Malcolm.

The 16-year-old is regarded as a special talent at The Hawthorns but unfortunately for Albion his form appears to have caught the eye.

That's after Football Insider claimed the Premier League leaders were stepping up their interest in the teenager after he scored four goals for the Baggies against Liverpool's U18 side last week.

Those goals took Malcolm to seven goals and three assists in nine U18 games this season and the report states that 'other elite Premier League clubs' are monitoring the player as a result too.

Given Albion's recent history with losing their young players this will be a massive concern, with Malcolm's long-term future in the west Midlands now in doubt.

The likes of Izzy Brown, Yan Dhanda and Jerome Sinclair have all left for bigger clubs in the past, with Louie Barry completing a move to Barcelona and Morgan Rogers linking up with Manchester City this year too.

The verdict

Albion fans will be extremely frustrated by this report and you can't really blame them.

For too long their top talents have been picked off and given you don't really get a fee that reflects the true potential of the player it will make them question whether it's all worth it.

From Malcolm's perspective, you can understand why a move to Liverpool will appeal so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
