James Maddison expects to sign for Liverpool this year.

According to a report by Anfield Edition, Maddison has exclusively revealed to a source close to Anfield Edition that he expects to complete a move to Liverpool in the summer.

The England under-21 international is good friends with Trent Alexander-Arnold, who he shares a room with when on international duty, and wants to join him at Liverpool.

Maddison has been in excellent form for Norwich this season after establishing himself in the first team at Carrow Road.

The former Coventry City academy graduate has hit 15 goals in all competitions for the Canaries and added a further eight assists too.

His performances have not gone unnoticed with a host of Championship clubs taking a fancy to Maddison.

The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton, Southampton and West Ham have all been linked with the 21-year-old in the past as his Carrow Road exit now looks inevitable.

Maddison plays in central midfield but is a ball-playing midfielder who boasts tremendous skill and a wide range of passing.

Liverpool are hoping to snap the youngster up ahead of a number of Premier League rivals while a move for Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon could also be on the cards.

The Verdict

As a Coventry City fan, I know firsthand just how good James Maddison can be. The midfielder has so much skill and it is no surprise to see the biggest clubs in the land after him. If Maddison does move to Liverpool, he should be asking about whether he would get game time because he needs minutes to continue his development.
