Liverpool could make a move to sign Sheffield United starlet David Brooks, according to a report in the Sunday People, Print Edition, Sunday 1st October.

The 20-year-old has emerged as a revelation for the Blades this season following an impressive summer with England in the Toulon Tournament, and has delivered a string of impressive displays for Chris Wilder's men.

However, his form was always likely to draw some interest from the top clubs, and now Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool appear to be joining the race along with local rivals Everton for Brooks' signature.

Brooks has this week been selected for the Wales squad by Chris Coleman and could make his international debut over the coming two games with manager Chris Coleman admitting he would be more than happy to use Brooks is needed.

The young midfielder, who can play just off the striker or across the midfield area, was in scintillating form as the Blades ran out 4-2 winners over Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, but could not prevent the Blades dropping to a 2-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest yesterday.

It remains to be seen what value United place on Brooks, although he did pen a new contract last year and there's every likelihood the Blades may tie him down to a further new deal.

The Verdict

Brooks is certainly one of the top talents in the Championship and it's no surprise to see Premier League interest swell in him.

It will take a big offer though, with Blades manager Chris Wilder already stating Brooks is not going anywhere. Premier League money can talk though, so it will be an interesting few months ahead.
