Journalist Luca Mannini says that their has been a trio of late bids for Reading’s Alex McCarthy from Juventus, Liverpool and Tottenham.
The 24-year-old was set for a £3m move to QPR, but that could all change as a late flurry of bids have been made for the promising keeper.
McCarthy is a Reading academy graduate and made the most saves out of any keeper in the Championship last season, but has been recently relegated to the bench as Australian Adam Federici has taken the number one spot as goalkeeper.
Nigel Adkins told Get Reading: “We like Alex here. We’ve got great aspirations for him and we want him to be in the England set up.
“For him to do that, being in the Premier League is going to be more advantageous for him.”
