According to the Sun, Liverpool have registered an interest in Jack Grealish with Tottenham as yet failing to meet Aston Villa's asking price for the player.

Grealish underlined his quality last season with a strong campaign in the Championship, once again reminding us that he is more than capable of being a Premier League player.

Tottenham are among the clubs looking to make that happen for 2018/19, then, but with Daniel Levy apparently not willing to go over £20m for the player, they are struggling to make headway.

And, with that said, it is now thought that Liverpool have lodged an interest in the player as they, like Spurs, aim to try and topple Manchester City in the Premier League next season.

The Verdict

Daniel Levy is one of the toughest negotiators in the game and once he's set his limits he very rarely budges on them.

Certainly, then, if Spurs and Villa come to an impasse Liverpool have got a real chance of getting Grealish with Champions League football on offer and the draw of playing under Jurgen Klopp.

They're yet to make a bid but you get the feeling if they do they might become the main players in this battle.
