Quoted by The Athletic, West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jake Livermore has been building his perfect player with attributes from the various players he has played with in his career coming together.

Livermore has played in the Premier League for the likes of Tottenham and Hull City, as well as featuring for England, whilst he's currently part of the West Brom side look to return to the Premier League this season.

Naturally, then, he'll have played with some good players during his time and, when picking a player for speed, that was highlighted - though he opted against picking Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling.

Indeed, he instead opted for someone currently out on loan from Albion, in saying:

"My first thought is Raheem Sterling, and Kyle Edwards at West Brom has a lot of speed, too. But I would probably go with Oli Burke, who’s also on our books but has spent the season on loan at Alaves in Spain. He has got frightening pace."

The Verdict

It's perhaps a surprise given Burke's struggles at Albion so far but, in terms of raw pace, Livermore evidently feels as though the winger can beat pretty much anyone he has come up against.

In terms of ability, Sterling is obviously the better footballer right now but Burke does have pace to burn and if he could get a run of form and confidence together back in this country, perhaps he could still fulfil the potential that he has.
