The Athletic's Phil Hay has suggested it would cause "big problems" for Leeds United's promotion hopes if the Premier League were to remove relegation for the 2019/20 campaign, which has drawn outrage from many fans of the Yorkshire club.

BBC Sport has reported that a growing number of Premier League sides want the threat of relegation removed if the season is resumed and have suggested they'd be open to concluding the campaign in neutral venues if that were the case.

What that would mean for the promotion hopes of Leeds and West Bromwich Albion, the two sides in the Championship's automatic promotion places, is at this point unknown.
