There seems to be no respite for Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa, with his defensive options in tatters following injuries to Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas, as reported on the club website.

With so many defenders on the injury list, perhaps the time has come for Bielsa to look to Lewie Coyle, who is currently plying his trade as a full-back at Fleetwood Town on loan.

So should Leeds keep Lewie Coyle as part of their 2019 plans?

We discuss.....

Considering Leeds’ defensive troubles at present, and the right-back playing regularly, and playing well for Fleetwood Town on loan, I can see him playing a part his parent club in the new year.

Luke Ayling et all are all due back around the January mark, and any later than that, Coyle could get his chance to impress.

Marcelo Bielsa is not afraid to use young players so I definitely can see him paying his part in 2019.

Gary Hutchinson

At the moment I think they need to hang on to everyone!

There’s so few options for Mareclo Bielsa that anybody, literally anybody will be a help.

Coyle is doing well at Fleetwood and has a lot of potential, so surely there’s value going forward.

George Harbey

I think whilst their squad is as depleted as it is, Coyle has got to stay.

He’s impressed out on loan at Fleetwood and will be hungry to earn a starting berth in the Leeds side.

He could be of much use to Bielsa.
