Lincoln City will be looking to add to their side further where they can this summer as they look to challenge for promotion once again next year in Sky Bet League One.

The Imps will be seen as one of the favourites to get into the Championship after their performances last year and Michael Appleton has already said he is eager to finish the project of getting the side into the second tier during his reign as manager.

It'll be interesting, then, to see which new players come in to help them in their cause and the transfer rumours around the club are continuing to fly.

That said, let's take a look at three of the latest stories doing the rounds concerning the club and potential comings and goings...

Josh Griffiths remains of interest

Goalkeeper Josh Griffiths remains of interest to the Imps according to Alan Nixon.

The young stopper has recently penned a new deal with West Bromwich Albion but it looks likely that he will seal a loan exit away from the club once again for the coming season, in a bid to build on his experience at Cheltenham Town last year.

Lincoln are firmly linked with the player but as yet, no deal has been struck.

Zak Elbouzedi set for exit

According to Swedish outlet Sportexpressen, Elbouzedi is set for an exit from Lincoln City and could be heading to Sweden to link up with AIK.

The player hasn't featured much at the Imps under Michael Appleton and this could be a move that works out for all involved.

The 23-year-old is said to have been told by Appleton he is free to leave this summer and has already apparently reached a verbal agreement with his potential new club.

Boost in Bishop battle

Towards the end of last week we saw Hearts boss Robbie Neilson say that his club is not interested in Teddy Bishop at Ipswich Town, in a potential boost to Lincoln's hopes of getting him.

The player appears free to leave the Tractor Boys this summer with Paul Cook making it apparent that he does not have a spot for him in his plans for next season in League One.

Lincoln are among those that have been credited with an interest in him, alongside MK Dons and Portsmouth.
