Lincoln City certainly have big plans for the season ahead.

The Imps came agonisingly close to securing promotion to the Championship after reaching the play-off final, but after losing to Blackpool the Wembley showpiece event, it means that the focus is now on next term.

Michael Appleton will be hoping to bolster his playing squad ahead of the new season but there's a decent chance that there could be some outgoings as well.

So what is the latest transfer news to emerge from Lincoln City?

Here's the latest news from Sincil Bank.

Jorge Grant

The midfielder has a clear opportunity to move to the Championship this summer.

Reports from Lincolnshire Live have claimed that Jorge Grant has a clause in his contract that will allow the player to discuss terms with any Championship club as long as they meet the club's buyout amount.

It remains to be seen what this figure is but with reports back in December claiming that Nottingham Forest, Norwich, Brentford and Swansea City were keen, it means that Lincoln could face a tough task to keep the 17-goal star.

Football finance expert delivers Landon Donovan verdict

Kieran Maguire says that the American's involvement with Lincoln City won't be an issue as long as he isn't a shareholder.

Donovan is part of the ownership group of Swansea City which could pose a potential conflict of interest, but according to Maguire, there's no breach of the rules.

Speaking on the Price Of Football Podcast, Maguire said: "If he is an advisor as opposed to a shareholder, then as far as I can make out, there would be no breach of the rules. Effectively, if you own more than 10% of more than one club, then there is a potential conflict of interest.

“It’s intriguing stuff from Lincoln. They’re one of my five-star clubs – very, very progressive outlook, really fantastic engagement with fans and they have taken on additional investment from the US.

“I’ll be honest, I have regular WhatsApp conversations with people from Lincoln, and I’m always very impressed at their forward-looking strategy.”
