Lincoln City should move for this Aston Villa man to boost their promotion hopes this summer

After a monumental season which saw promotion to the Football League as well as an historical cup run, Lincoln City are certainly a club on the up.

The Imps enter the fourth tier on the back of numerous successes, and young manager Danny Cowley will feel another promotion bid could be on the cards again this summer if the right moves are made in the transfer window.

The Imps announced their first three signings of the summer on Monday, with Ollie Palmer, Matt Green and Josh Ginnelly linking up with the club ahead of the new season, and a number of other faces are expected to follow the trio into the club in the coming weeks.

One man who needs to be on Cowley’s radar this summer is Aston Villa youngster Riccardo Calder, whose contract with the Villains is set to expire at the end of the month.

The left sided player enjoyed a successful spell on loan in League Two with promoted Doncaster last season, as well as a short one month loan spell with the Imps.

Cowley is keen to adopt the model of signing young players with the view to developing them, and Calder fits the bill perfectly.

The youngster has experienced a Premier League education, but now has the opportunity to further ply his trade in the Football League.

Lincoln are a club on the up, and adding Calder to the mix and drawing the best from the 21 year old could help fire Lincoln to back to back promotions.
