Huddersfield Town head coach Jan Siewert has heaped praise on Danny and Nicky Cowley for what they have achieved at Lincoln City, ahead of the EFL Cup tie on Tuesday night.

Huddersfield are hoping to challenge for promotion from the Championship this season and started the campaign with a 2-1 defeat at home to Derby County and a 1-1 draw at Queens Park Rangers.

The Terriers must now turn their attention to the EFL Cup and the visit of Lincoln, who have started their campaign in League One with back-to-back victories over Accrington Stanley and Rotherham United.

Huddersfield head coach Jan Siewert has heaped praise on Lincoln management duo Danny and Nicky Cowley for the success they have achieved with the Imps over the past few years, explaining to Town's official media:

The Cowley brothers took charge at Lincoln in 2016 and were able to guide the Imps to promotion to the Football League and the FA Cup quarter-finals in their first season in full-time management.

They achieved more success in 2017/18, as Lincoln lifted the EFL Trophy at Wembley and reached the League Two play-offs.

The brothers would guide Lincoln to the League Two title last season, securing two promotions in three seasons for the Imps.

The Verdict

Siewert is right. The Cowley brothers deserve tremendous credit for what they've been able to achieve at Lincoln over the past few seasons.

Lincoln have started the season with back-to-back wins in League One and can go into the game against Huddersfield full of confidence.

Siewert will know that Huddersfield cannot afford to underestimate their opponents ahead of the clash at the John Smith's Stadium tomorrow night and I'm sure he will try to get that message across to the players.
