Making an excellent start to the summer transfer window, Nathan Jones will be eager to continue assembling his squad at Luton Town for a promotion challenge.

Losing an important player in Kal Naismith, Elijah Adebayo is someone who could continue to attract interest, with a Football League World exclusive revealing that Burnley and West Brom were monitoring the 24-year-old during the latter stages of last season.

Already adding Cauley Woodrow to his squad this summer, reports have surfaced that Jones' side are in advanced talks with Carlton Morris and 19-year-old Aribim Pepple.

Speaking last week about the towering front man, Jones appeared adamant that Adebayo would remain a Luton player through this summer.

In conversation with Football League World, Carlton Palmer shared his thoughts on Adebayo's situation at Kenilworth Road: "I mean a manager is going to say that's the stance.

"The manager is going to come out and say he's not available but like like we all know, if an offer comes in that's too good, then that quickly changes.

"Of course, Luton Town would like to keep him. I think it's going to have to be a really, really big offer for them to let go."

The verdict

It is a difficult situation to assess, as Luton are likely to hold a high valuation of the exciting forward but do not need to sell.

Even prior to the rumours regarding Morris' potential arrival, Jones did state that he was looking to bring in another attacker, with a move for Pepple likely to be for the U23s or for an immediate loan.

Of course, if a sizeable offer does come in, that surpasses their expectations, then the Hatters will certainly have to consider it, especially if it will provide Jones with the opportunity to strengthen further.

It remains to be seen what the immediate future holds for Adebayo, with the 24-year-old thriving during his first full season in the Championship last time out.
