‘Like the Scottish Messi, but better’ – Barnsley fans laud performance of striker following last gasp equaliser

Pinto challenges McBurnie

Barnsley managed to scrape a point after looking like throwing three away at Oakwell this afternoon, coming out with a 2-2 draw with fellow relegation rivals Bolton Wanderers.

The Reds made hard work of it, and should have been heading to the win, only to conceded two in two minutes with only five of normal time remaining, with Adam Le Fondre getting in on the act for the Trotters.

However, the home side would not be denied something from the game, and it was left to loan striker Oli McBurnie to snatch a late, late leveller to send the home fans into raptures and put a crucial point on the board for the Yorkshire men.

Goalscorer McBurnie has come to be something of a hero at Oakwell, smashing in eight goals since making a move to the club from Premier League Swansea City.

With McBurnie yet again getting in on the act, plenty of Barnsley fans were keen to take to social media to praise their star man, and we at FLW took a good look at just how the club’s fans reacted.

Here’s a more in depth look at just what is being said about McBurnie…
