‘Like a new signing’, ‘Unbelievable’ – Loads of Charlton fans impressed by 23-y/o’s midweek display

Loads of Charlton Athletic fans were thoroughly impressed with Josh Cullen after the midfielder made his long-awaited return from injury on Wednesday night.

Cullen had been missing since the end of November after tearing ligaments in his ankle in a 2-2 draw with Cardiff City at The Valley but returned to the starting line-up to face Fulham last night, completing the full 90 minutes.

Since returning on loan from West Ham during the summer transfer window, Cullen has made 17 appearances and scored once, assisting a goal as well in that time.

He was a crucial part of the side which won promotion from League One last season too, assisting seven goals and netting two over the cource of 35 games.

And it was a typically industrious and controlled display from the 23-year-old against Scott Parker’s promotion chasers last night and one which really caught the attention of the fans…
