Loads of Southend United fans have reacted to the news that a host of first-team squad players have not been paid for their work throughout February.

The Echo broke the news, marking the latest chapter in a season that continues to lurch closer and closer to complete disaster for the club with relegation looking like a certainty.

The Shrimpers currently sit in 22nd place in League One with 17 points between them and safety. In fact they sit just four points ahead of Bolton Wanderers, despite the Trotters being hit with a 12 point deduction at the start of the campaign.

It marks a further deterioration in the club's financial situation with Chairman Ron Martin the man to come under fire most for the current situation, although he has insisted that good times are ahead.

They are currently under a transfer embargo and despite promising that wages would be paid on time after a similar incident earlier in the season, here we are.

So it is no surprise that many fans are fuming with the update...
