Liam Moore has backed his Reading colleague Tom McIntyre to have a big future in football, but could not resist taking a cheeky dig at his teammate on social media after the win over Wycombe Wanderers last night.

McIntrye made his first appearance of the season last night, as the Royals edged past their League One opponents on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Adams Park.

The 19-year-old came through the academy at Reading and made two appearances for the Royals in the Championship last season.

Reading defender Moore - who started alongside McIntyre in defence last night - believes that the centre-back has a big future ahead of him in football, but could not resist taking a dig at his teammate in a message on social media.

Moore wrote on his Instagram story: "Some future this kids got if he keeps his massive head down!"

Reading won 4-2 on penalties against Wycombe last night and will face League Two high-flyers Plymouth Argyle in the second round of the competition.

The Verdict

I'm not sure McIntyre will appreciate this message from Moore about the size of his head, but joking aside, he's a promising young player and could have a big future ahead of him at Reading.

The centre-back played well for Reading against Wycombe last night and will be hoping that he did enough to convince manager Jose Gomes to give him more opportunities for the first team in the future.

If he continues to keep working hard in training, I'm sure it won't be too long before he gets another chance to prove himself for the senior side.
