Reading have made a hugely impressive start to this year's league campaign under the management of Veljko Paunovic in the Championship.

The Royals are currently sat top of the second-tier standings, and will be hoping they can get back to winning ways at the earliest of opportunities, after back-t0-back defeats against Coventry City, and most recently, Preston North End.

A number of players have caught the eye with some impressive displays this term for the Berkshire-based side this term at both ends of the pitch.

Liam Moore is one of those to put in consistently strong performances for Paunovic's side this season, and it appears as though that hasn't gone unnoticed.

The Reading captain has made ten appearances in all competitions this season for Reading, and will be keen to build on these showings as the season edges closer to the hectic festive period.

What do we know so far?

It was originally reported by TEAMtalk that Leicester City were interested in signing Moore, who had previously been with the Foxes before signing for Reading in 2016.

Moore has previously been linked with a move away from the Madejski Stadium in previous transfer windows, but a move failed to materialise for one reason or another.

Leicester are currently sat second in the Premier League table, and will be hoping they can add depth to their defensive options in the January transfer window.

The Foxes are yet to submit a formal bid for Moore's services though, as they weigh up their options.

Is it likely to happen?

I would be surprised if a move to Leicester was to materialise anytime soon.

Moore seems to be back to his best this season with Reading, after a frustrating few years with the Berkshire-based side, which is one of the main reasons as to why they've been so impressive in defence when he's been in the team.

But the Royals skipper is currently sidelined with an ankle injury picked up in the defeat to Coventry City not so long ago, and he'll be eager to return to the squad at the earliest of opportunities.

Leicester are likely to be in the market for a defender in the January transfer window, but I would be surprised if they were willing to take a risk with Moore, who is currently injured, and hasn't had much Premier League experience in his career to date.

Reading won't be wanting to cash-in on one of their key players either, so like I say, I'd be very surprised if a move was to happen.
