Leeds United will be hoping they can continue to build on the momentum they built earlier this year when football returns.

Due to the off-the-field crisis, the EFL have announced that fixtures won't return until it is seemed safe enough to do some by the relevant authorities.

Leeds had been on a run of five consecutive wins before the season was called to an abrupt halt, and the Elland Road faithful will be keen to see their side pick up where they left off from when fixtures are to get back underway.

One player that has been key to their impressive showings to date is Pablo Hernandez, with the Spanish playmaker having six goals and six assists to his name this season.

Hernandez celebrates his 35th birthday on Saturday, and will be hoping that he can win a long-awaited promotion back into the Premier League with Leeds this term.

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper sent a message to Hernandez on his birthday through Twitter, and claimed that he's still 'megging mermaids for fun', which is certain to go down well with the club's supporters.

The Verdict:

Hernandez is like a fine wine, that gets better with age.

He's been brilliant this season for Leeds, and Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping that he can stay fit for the remainder of this year's campaign, as he's a player that Leeds can build their team around.

The Spaniard deserves a shot in the Premier League with the Whites, and I think he's more than capable of adjusting to the step up to the top-flight.

If Hernandez is at his best for the remaining nine games of this season, then I have no doubt in my mind that Leeds will finally win promotion into the Premier League this term.
