The break from competitive action came at a frustrating time for Leeds United, who were building some serious momentum heading into the final nine games of this year's campaign.

The Whites had won their last five league games in the Championship, which saw them move to the top of the second tier standings ahead of West Brom.

More importantly though, Marcelo Bielsa's side are seven points clear of third-placed Fulham, as they look to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League this term.

However, that momentum has been called to a halt, with the EFL announcing that fixtures won't get back underway until it is deemed safe enough to do so amid the off-the-field crisis.

This has led to a lockdown in the UK, with the public being advised not to travel anywhere unless it is essential. This does mean that shops such as barbers are closed at the moment, which has led to people taking things into their own hands when it comes to their haircuts.

One Leeds player that clearly isn't doing that though is club captain Liam Cooper, who was pictured with longer hair during the lockdown, as one Leeds supporter called him out on it on Twitter.

Cooper was quick to respond though, and claimed that he was 'embracing it', which is certain to go down well with the Elland Road faithful.

The Verdict:

It's going to be a tough period for everyone!

I think we'll see a fair few of his team-mates sporting longer hair when they do eventually return to action.

Cooper has been key to their impressive performances this season, and his partnership in the heart of the Leeds defence alongside Brighton loanee Ben White has been there for all to see.

If they can pick up where they left off, then I have no doubt in my mind in saying that Leeds will make a long-overdue return to the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa's guidance this season.
